A Ramapo woman has been charged with pocketing thousands of dollars in payments from five cash-strapped families she was supposed to help pay off loans, officials said.

Sonia Dixon, 44, of 30 Dunnigan Dr., Pomona, has been charged with third-degree larceny, a felony, Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said in a statement.
