The Rockland County Legislature voted unanimously Tuesday night to allow the county’s Sewer District 1 to seek a $43 million bond for the Western Ramapo Sewer Extension project.

The project will now cost a total of $168 million. The developers will attempt to float a 30-year bond through the state Environmental Facilities Corp., where officials hope to see interest rates as low as 2 percent.
