Sparkill finally gets in on the scene with new arts center, businesses

People driving the 9W bridge over Sparkill Creek might glance down and think, "That's a cute little town," before forgetting the hamlet altogether by the time they reach the end of the overpass.
Overshadowed by its more posh neighbors of Piermont and Palisades, downtown Sparkill never recovered after its train depot was shut and torn down more than a half-century ago.
