Vanderhoef reluctantly says Rockland desalination plant likely to be built

Despite opposition from environmentalists and serious reservations about the economics of building a desalination water treatment plant in Haverstraw to serve Rockland residents, the county's highest elected official predicted Thursday that the controversial project will eventually be approved.
