Workers, union leaders plead for jobs at Rockland hearing

Rockland County has a $96 million budget deficit, the worst credit rating of any county in New York and taxes that are unheard-of anywhere else, but those problems weren't addressed by people who attended a budget hearing in New City on Tuesday night.

Instead, legislators listened as public employees and union leaders pleaded for jobs before a somber crowd of about 100 at the county office...
