As expected, Eduardo Nuñez, who hasn’t played since last Sunday because of tightness in his left rib cage, was placed on the disabled list, retroactive to May 6. Alberto Gonzalez, an infielder who can play short, second and third, was called up from Triple-A Scranton after being acquired Thursday from the Cubs.
