About Amazon Kindle Fire

The Kindle Fire is a tablet computer version of Amazon.com's Kindle e-book reader. Announced on 28 September 2011, the Kindle Fire will have a color 7" multi-touch display with IPS technology and run on a forked version of Google's Android operating system. It includes access to Amazon's app store, streaming movies and TV shows in addition to Kindle's e-books. It is scheduled to be released in mid November. The device will sell for US$199. Its external dimensions are 7.5" x 4.7". Excluding its external border the screen is a little larger than a 4x6 picture.
