It's officially called the Metromover, but you'll hear it called the "people mover." Whatever you call it, this elevated train is your free ticket to sightseeing in downtown Miami.
Think subway, but one floor above street level. No operators. The car or cars stop, you get on, and an automated voice tells you about the next stop.
There are 21 Metromover stations at popular venues such as the American Airlines Arena and the Miami Convention Center. The College Bayside Station is a stop just across from the Port of Miami, where the Bayside Marketplace offers shopping, dining and proximity to cruise ships.
At Bayfront Park Station you might find a festival going on, or enjoy this 32-acre park by sitting in the sandy area along the water. A short walk from the Omni Station is the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, which has concerts and dance events throughout the year.
