A Montrose gas station employee was pistol-whipped Friday during an early morning robbery, police said.

The assault happened around 1 a.m. when two men entered the BP station at 2030 Albany Post Road, said State Police Investigator John Shaughnessy. The employee, who suffered minor facial injuries, was treated at Hudson Valley Hospital Center and released.
