On Monday, Joe Mammana, 81, of New Rochelle, will become a member of an elite group by cumulatively donating 80 pints -- or 10 gallons -- of his A-positive blood.

It's a feat only 2 percent of U.S. blood donors accomplish, and in the past three decades Mammana's blood has benefited 240 people.
