As layoffs loom, Peekskill mulls renewing early retirement offer

With nearly 20 jobs on the chopping block, the City of Peekskill wants to give employees who could be laid off another chance to retire.

The city is compiling a list of 18 employees who will be laid off to close revenue shortfalls in 2013, and at least one employee has asked if he can take early retirement instead.
