Astorino critics question GOP hires as Westchester fires workers

In late November, two weeks before Republican Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino was to sign a $1.7 billion budget that would lay off about 70 workers, he hired Lynne Colavita, the wife of Republican Eastchester Supervisor Anthony Colavita, as an assistant county attorney.

Colavita earns $103,065 a year, not including benefits.
