A candle burning in the kitchen of an apartment ignited a fire in a Mount Vernon building Wednesday night, fire officials said.

The blaze occurred at 11 p.m. on the second floor of an apartment building on Elm Avenue.

Officials say that some of the building's residents had to evacuate but were let back in once the fire was put out.

No one was injured....
