Ceilings collapse at Mamaroneck apartment complex, forcing evacuations

A burst pipe caused ceilings to collapse in a large apartment building in Mamaroneck on Sunday, said Fire Chief Robert Pecchia.
"We had a major water leak, it looks like," Pecchia said. "Ceilings down. Imagine Sheetrock all falling down and being all over the place."
The 61-unit building at 680 W. Boston Post Rd. was completely evacuated, Pecchia said, though only around 20 apartments...
