Cuomo launches Office for New Americans with free English classes, legal help and more

Immigrants who want to learn English, become citizens or run a business can now get free help from five Hudson Valley groups that have collectively received $750,000 in state grants.

Community groups in Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, Spring Valley, White Plains and New Rochelle are among the 27 organizations around the state that have each received $150,000 to create the programs and hire staffers....
