Hudson Valley schools get additional aid in Cuomo's proposed budget

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo responded to the pleas of education advocates Tuesday with a plan that addressed many of the most vexing school budget problems, including skyrocketing pension costs and special education mandates.

However, some school leaders said Tuesday that they are withholding applause until they see more details about how money will be distributed.
