Cries for an investigation
Riverkeeper, a clean-water advocacy group, calls for an independent investigation into Entergy’s plant maintenance. Citing the combination of the previous day’s explosion and a radioactive water leak from corroded piping at Entergy’s Vermont Yankee nuclear plant, the group questions the corporation’s commitment to safe maintenance of the sites. Riverkeeper also doubts the NRC’s ability to strictly regulate the nuclear industry.
