The heightened tensions in the Gaza Strip could be felt in a New Rochelle temple Sunday as congregants peppered an Israeli consulate speaker with concerned questions.

Many at Temple Israel have friends and relatives in Israel. Herb and Edith Meyers, of New Rochelle, have a granddaughter in the Israeli army. And New Rochelle resident Paul Warhit's son, Josh, will begin basic training Wednesday.
