Friends and family gathered Saturday at the hockey rink at West Point to celebrate the life of Army Maj. Thomas E. Kennedy, who was killed Wednesday by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan.

A 3 p.m. private tribute for the 2000 academy graduate brought more than 100 family and friends to the ice at Tate Rink in Holleder Center. Many of them stopped to view the No. 14 jersey, helmet and hockey stick...
