Mamaroneck school tightens security after gunman scare

Mamaroneck's middle school reopened amid tightened security Friday, a day after an armed stranger tried to enter it.

Three Town of Mamaroneck police vehicles -- two squad cars and an SUV -- were seen in front of Hommocks Middle School in Larchmont on Friday morning. Parents were driving students directly to the drop-off area in front of the building.
