Four homes in Mount Vernon were evacuated after a gas leak Thursday night, fire and police authorities said.
The evacuated multifamily homes are near the intersection of Third and Rockledge avenues, a few hundred feet from Brush Park. Con Edison was on the scene at 7:15 p.m., helping firefighters locate the source of the gas leak, the Mount Vernon Fire Department said.
