Mount Vernon man shot twice in legs, police say

A Mount Vernon man was shot twice in the legs and left bleeding on Mount Vernon Avenue on Christmas Eve, police said Tuesday.
The unidentified man, 31, was taken to a local hospital after the Monday night shooting and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, said Mount Vernon Police Chief John Roland Jr.
Roland said officers responded to 60 Mount Vernon Ave. about 8:30 p.m....
