Mayor Ernie Davis said Monday that he did not expect a federal investigation into alleged ties between some Mount Vernon cops and street gang members to hamstring his search for a new police commissioner.
"I'm getting close," said Davis, who reiterated that he hopes to have a replacement named by the end of the week.
Davis declined to comment on the probe by the U.S. attorney's office...
