A proposal to build a 24,690-square-foot Islamic center and mosque in a countrified corner of New Castle has riled the normally tranquil neighborhood.
Residents of the area, located between Ossining and Millwood and known as the West End, fear the mosque will generate heavy traffic on roads not designed to carry a crush of vehicles and will ruin the neighborhood's rural charm.
