New Rochelle drops worker parking-fee plan

A proposal to charge city and school employees for parking while they are at work at City Hall was scuttled Wednesday by the New Rochelle City Council.
Several council members commended as "well-intentioned" Mayor Noam Bramson's attempt to encourage employee car pools and the use of public transportation, but they said many city workers had expressed displeasure when the proposal was unveiled...
