Skating was prohibited Tuesday on two lakes and a pond in New Rochelle that had been opened to skaters following a week of subfreezing temperatures.
Parks staff inspected the facilities Tuesday and determined that Carpenters Pond, Paine Lake and South Lake at New Rochelle High School were unsafe for skating because of the warmer weather.
