A New Rochelle man attacked another city man with a baseball bat Monday and beat him into a near-coma, police said.

Antonio Lucaine assaulted the unidentified man in front of the victim's building on Pelham Road just after 6 p.m., New Rochelle Sgt. Matt Brady said.
