Peekskill school declared bedbug-free

A pest control company has declared Peekskill Middle School free of bedbugs after a student brought the insects into the school Tuesday, officials said.

The student was sent home and a pest control company cleaned and inspected the school.

School officials said the company will make follow-up visits to ensure that no more bedbugs are discovered.
