Police shot and killed a pit bull Monday in Mount Vernon after the animal attacked a man.
Mount Vernon resident Jason McCrae, 29, says he was attacked by an unleashed pit bull on Union Avenue when he attempted to help a 12 year-old boy who he believed was in danger.
According to Lance McDowell, the owner of the pit bull, McCrae started hitting the dog with a stick and was attacked shortly...
