Rockland County soldiers preparing to deploy hear this sentiment from civilians all the time: "I thought we were leaving Afghanistan."
"I keep hearing that," said Staff Sgt. Scott Humphrey, a Rochester native who lives in Nyack. "There's a plan to eventually withdraw the troops, but you can't just pull everyone out at once."
