Construction begins
The day after Labor Day, more than 1,000 men begin construction on the park. Fueled by the optimism of the Roaring '20s, Playland becomes the first amusement park to be entirely designed before construction. In this undated image, workers build the roof and interior of a building near the Bobs Aeroplane Coaster at Rye Playland.
