Scarsdale to euthanize geese, feed them to the needy
Village officials have agreed to euthanize local geese and feed the meat to the homeless. (January 11, 2013 5:58 PM)
Village of Scarsdale officials are moving ahead with plans to eliminate the local geese population.
Leaders have approved an agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture they say will humanely euthanize the birds and process their meat for needy people to eat. The targeted birds tend to congregate around the library pond area.
