Spano names interim Yonkers fire commissioner

Yonkers Police Commissioner Charles Gardner will temporarily lead the city's fire department after the fire commissioner's resignation earlier this week, Mayor Mike Spano's office said.
Gardner will take over immediately as Interim Yonkers Fire Commissioner, giving him oversight of both emergency services departments.
