State Police to increase DWI checkpoints during Super Bowl weekend

A New York State Police barracks is adding additional DWI checkpoints to crack down on drunken drivers during Super Bowl weekend.

The annual Stop DWI Crackdown, conducted by Troop T, which patrols the State Thruway, will begin Friday and end Feb. 4, according to a State Police news release.

During 2012's crackdown, Troop T issued 1,794 tickets and made 13 arrests.
