Westchester contracts for warming site in Mount Vernon
Westchester County contracted for a small seasonal "drop-in/warming site" in Mount Vernon. It replaces the site at the Mount Vernon YMCA, which closed last year.
The warming site can accommodate a maximum of 14 beds and is not a full-service homeless shelter, the county said in a new release Wednesday. It operates only overnight, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and during colder months until mid-April.
