“I’m overwhelmed...

1) A nor'easter is headed for the region, where it will combine with a cold-air mass moving south from Canada -- the perfect recipe for snow after two weeks of mostly mild weather. Is this winter's last gasp before spring? Although snow, sleet and rain could continue through Friday, forecasts say the storm should pass by Saturday, just in time for daylight saving time and an extra hour of sunshine....

Years ago, when someone wanted to get up on a soapbox, he got on a soapbox. Today, he gets a Facebook page. Consider, for example, Can This Grungy Sock Get More Fans Than Nita Lowey, a page that fails miserably in its stated goal to attract more supporters than Rep. Nita Lowey (D-Harrison) but nonetheless receives points for the creativity of its title. The site doesn't pull punches: “Nita Lowey...

Westchester County Democrats don't appear to be fielding challengers against Legis. Mike Kaplowitz (D-Somers) and Legis. Virginia Perez (D-Yonkers), the lawmakers who crossed party lines last year to give Republican County Executive Rob Astorino the two Democratic votes he needed to enact his 2013 budget.

But that doesn't mean Kaplowitz and Perez aren't looking over their shoulders.

“I'm...
