A Yonkers man is lucky to be alive after he lost control of his car Friday and smashed into a retaining wall.

Soni Jose, 52, was backing out his driveway on Borghild Avenue on his way to work Friday morning when his brakes gave way and he plunged down a hill, police said. The car crashed into a barrier that prevented him from going further down the hill and straight into a house.
