Yonkers schools get more money for fixes

The Yonkers City Council on Tuesday approved another investment toward repairing its crumbling city schools.

The council approved $30.7 million in spending for municipal capital improvements and an additional $8.9 million for school building repairs.

The city has approved $27.6 million in bonds for schools in 2012.
